Every copy of Windows XP Home, Professional, and Media Center Edition ships with the video editing software package Windows Movie Maker. One of the cooler features of Movie Maker is the ability to easily generate slideshows from still photos, complete with audio commentary, soundtracks, titles, credits, and custom special effects.

In addition to Movie Maker, the tutorial also references the SpiceFX effects and Transitions, which are available from Pixelan.com.
