Microsoft chose some lousy slogans for the Windows Vista rollout. This billboard near Hollywood Boulevard in Hollywood, CA is likely the worst Vista ad I’ve seen to date. What the hell is my “Wow” and why do I need to defend it?

[IMG Defend your Wow] Jake Ludington asks, “what the hell is my ‘Wow’ and why do I need to defend it?” That’s exactly what I asked myself when I saw that billboard on the way to LA on Monday. Come on, people. You can do way better than this!

[...] Jake recently wrote about the lack luster “Wow” campaign. Unless Microsoft is trying to ride the coat tails of World of Warcraft, I think the Wow campaign is not resonating with anyone. The “Wow” Factor has never been why people buy PC’s. PC’s are tools. The end user knows this. You don’t see the masses flocking to buy Hammers designed by Calvin Klein, because we don’t care if it looks cool, you care about how well it functions. The Majority of the people in the US would be happier commuting in a Mini Cooper than we would in a Lotus. And while Fondu is fun at parties we don’t want to eat it every day. [...]

[...] I have to agree with Jake Luddington on this one. Microsoft needs some new marketing folks big time. [...]

I agree with some of the other comments – what the hell is my “wow” and why the hell to I have to defend it. I know Vista has been out for over two months now and i would like to see less of these stupid ads everywhere
