Longhorn Worldwide?

It's somewhat refreshing to see the operating system rivalry between Microsoft and Apple is still alive and well. Setup for the today's Worldwide Developer's Conference is already underway (by the time you read this, the conference may be underway), including some rather clever banners for the next version of OS X. It seems the powers that be in Cupertino are under the impression that Microsoft is borrowing heavily from their OS X user experience. Let's face it, both companies are guilty of driving each other to make the user experience better for everyone. The real mystery to me is why the interface designers from the KDE and GNOME projects don't wise up and steal designs from both companies. I'd take Windows 95 over any of the interfaces the Linux geeks force us to suffer.
