USB 2.0 support for both the Edirol UA-1000 and UA101 are good news for multitrack audio recording in OS X Tiger. Edirol previously announced updated support for Windows x64, so it's apparent they are continuing to commit to both platforms in spite of the new Pro Tools merger with M-Audio.

From the announcement: "EDIROL today previewed the world’s first professional Hi - Speed USB (USB 2.0) multi-channel audio support for Apple Mac OS X Tiger using it’s UA-1000 and UA-101 USB 2.0 Audio Interfaces. This eagerly awaited Mac OS X support is made possible due to advances made in Tiger, the latest version of Mac OS X and EDIROL’s continued USB 2.0 audio development."
