Music publishers and songwriters are in negotiations with record labels, which may result in increased CD prices or a change the way CD digital rights management works. Currently DRM'd CDs contain two different versions of each song on an album, with the two versions working on specific types of devices. Songwriters and publishers feel two versions of the songs on a CD mean they should get paid twice for each CD (which might be correct based on the RIAA vs. MP3.com stuff that happened several years ago).
