There's still time to earn a chance at getting a free Rio Chiba Sport for registering in the forums. The Chiba Sport is a flash memory media player with 128MB of on board memory and an SD card expansion slot cable of adding an additional 512MB of music. In theory, the combined 640MB is enough space for 10 hours of music. For $12 (after rebate) you can double the memory with a Viking SD card. An FM tuner adds even more tunes, if you don't have a chance to reload tunes when the 10 hours are played out. The only downside to the Chiba is it uses an AAA battery for power, which supposedly lasts 18 hours. Radio Shack sells a charger and 8 AAA batteries for about $24, so that's a minor issue.
To help you submit the one post required to be eligible for the Chiba Sport, I've created a simple one question poll in the forums. I want to know if you've ever purchased a song from a music download service, and if so which one. Let me know if you liked the experience in the comments, or if you didn't, what you disliked. If you haven't downloaded from a music service, please post your thoughts regarding why you haven't and what might change your mind. With any luck, someone from the music services will read the comments and pass them along to the people who make customer experience decisions. Cast your vote in the poll now.
Iowa State Fair time is here in Des Moines, which means a Saturday of gorging myself on everything on a stick while rubbing shoulders with thousands of people from around the world. This year is the 150th anniversary of the fair, with all the sesquicentennial celebratory stuff a fair-goer can stand. I'm generally not a huge fan of mingling with large crowds of people while consuming fried foods and looking at large vegetables, but I go at least once every year anyway. Keep an eye on my Neptune site, where I'll be posting some video footage in honor of the 150 year event.
